Just like a school in the UK, Rainbow is divided into 3 main sections:

Infant School:             Kindergarten, Reception, Years 1 and 2
Junior School:           Years 3 to 6
Secondary School:   Years 7 to 13

Generally, the school years correspond to the child's age with Year 1 for 5 and 6 year olds progressing to Year 11 for 15 and 16 year olds. By the time a child takes the IGCSE exams, he/she should be 16 years old or slightly below.

However, as students at Rainbow come from a variety of different backgrounds, it may be necessary to place a child in a year appropriate to ability and knowledge rather than age.
