Two trained and qualified Careers Advisers are available to the students and parents for interviews on subject options, possible careers and guidance and counselling on all issues concerning the student's future. The careers department has a dedicated room with an interview section, computers with Internet access and a library full of up to date university prospectuses, financial aid and scholarship information. Careers Education Careers Education is provided from Year 8 upwards. In Year 9, help is given to choose options for IGCSE starting in Year 10 and in Year 11 they receive guidance as to how to proceed on with Advanced Level studies ('A' Levels, IB or Pre-University / Foundation). A Level students receive guidance in their decisions of what to go on to next; University or College (choosing a university / college, choosing a course and filling in applications) or get work or take a gap year. At all stages of their time in school, where there are options to be made, they receive guidance and counselling. Annual Careers Fair Every year, the Careers Department organises a Careers Fair where Higher Education institutions come to exhibit and professionals come to speak about their careers. Our two careers advisers are also on hand to give free careers guidance to any student or parent. Although the Fair is a service Rainbow provides for all schools in Kampala and the general public, our students also attend and benefit from this event. The Careers Department aims to provide the students with sufficient information about themselves and the world outside school so that they make an informed decision about their future.
