All are welcome to share in this event. The school anthology “Crispy Whispers” will be on sale for 10,000/= only. We look forward to seeing you there. Mrs. Wakiro EAMUN – The Final Chapter A drowsy set of students set off on a dark Saturday morning for the EAMUN conference in Nairobi. After an incredibly bumpy and tiring journey for 13 hours, we were glad to have the next day off before the real work began. On Monday, with resolution booklets in hand, we traversed the confusing grounds of Brookhouse, lobbying (trying to gain support for our resolutions) and introducing ourselves to many new and exciting people. The next four days were a blur of early morning, feisty debate, funny delegates, and embarrassment in the daily newspaper as well and afterwards an hour in a mall to recover. The EAMUN conference had over 1000 students from schools in six different countries and Rainbow’s delegation definitely enjoyed themselves by doing something that very few get a chance to. Gayathry & Mugabi, The EAMUN Press Corps, signing out … IGCSE Hill Walking Expedition IGCSE PE year 11’s and 5 members of staff went out on a hill walking expedition from the 17th – 20th of February, which took place in the Kabarole district. It was a practical assessment, which included a number of skills that had to be acquired and carried out successfully by each pupil. They were divided into groups of 4 or 5 and were expected to plan a 3 day route, cook for themselves, carry all their equipment, navigate through the hills using a map and compass, and various other skills. We managed to find our way back with no broken bones, plenty of smiles, lots of stories and a good result. Overall it was a successful trip. Thank you to Ms Grignard, Mr. Howard, Henry & Mildred for all their assistance. Mr. Urquhart NOTE: The full version of this report can be seen on the PE noticeboard. Year 6 Trip Year 6 children went to visit a local clay artist this week. They were shown how to prepare and handle clay and had a go at making their own pot, which they will paint back in their classrooms. This activity with conclude their topic on African Art, during which the children have produced fabulous pieces of work.
Basketball Both the senior boy and girl basketball teams went to ISU for an inter-schools tournament on Saturday 13th February. Both teams lost their first matches and therefore could not play in the finals. The boys lost against ISU and the girls lost to KISU. Both teams did manage to win their other games to get into third positions. The star of the girls’ game was Rukia racking up a number of baskets. Mabok played extremely well for the boys to help them get their win. Well done to both the girls and boys who took part.
This Saturday 5th March there is an U11 basketball tournament at ISU for girls and boys. Rugby result On Tuesday last week Rainbow took a senior rugby team to Aga Khan and won impressively 3 tries to 2.
Staff Football Team wins Last Thursday the staff team took a 3-0 lead against Kiseka Traders with two goals from Mr. Urquhart and a spectacular long shot from Henry. Kiseka came back to 3-2, but despite being reduced to 10 men because of a sending off, Rainbow just held on for the win.

In this tale the Emperor wore clothes of almost all material, including stone and metals. His new clothes were transparent! 1MO also told us about the many ways we use maths in everyday life. In Friday’s assembly 4LP reminded us about the importance of being truthful through poems and short skits. It was a very timely reminder as we have had a few things going missing from classrooms. Let’s remember that honesty as well as truthfulness are very valuable qualities. New Year Dragons Art club dragons are on display along the Learning Support balcony.
ICT Lab Please remember the same rule applies to the ICT as to other classrooms. Children must be supervised there at all times. If there is no adult there to supervise you please do not enter the lab. This rule also applies at weekends.
