The PSA are planning events and fund raising enterprises in order to support the school and help out in very needy and practical ways. It would be great if you could join in our efforts to make this a very successful year for the school. Of course we want you to attend the functions we are organising but there are many other small ways in which you can help and some are urgently needed right NOW.

At our first meeting we agreed on what we going to try and raise money for after consultation with the Senior Management of the school. That is;-
  1. Library resources-in particular reference books for both Primary and Secondary
  2. Musical instruments for Primary School to supplement after a robbery.
  3. Lockers- a continuing need for Secondary students to store their belongings.
We are approaching fund raising from 2 directions this year. We are planning quite a few events but also some income raising activities which involve the children directly and so we hope you will support these willingly.
Firstly, the EVENTS planned so far:-

7th November - CAR BOOT SALE

A good opportunity to have a sort out at home and sell what you don’t need. Also an opportunity to buy! Barbecue and possibly an auction to follow up at the Rainbow Club.

Early December - CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR CHILDREN --- to be discussed at next meeting.

30TH January, 2010 - SPONSORED BIATHLON

27TH February, 2010 - WORLD CUP FUN DAY

3RD Term - INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR ---- date to be fixed at next meeting .

Income-generating activities involving the children:-

We plan to produce greetings cards, tea towels and ‘MAGIC’ mugs with the children’s photos on and to sell them from school by order or from a PSA stall once a week. The greetings cards and tea towels will have on them designs, motifs and small pictures done by the children in Secondary and Primary and THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP!

Myf, the PRO has the contacts lined up waiting to produce the tea towels, mugs and cards but they are waiting for the children’s designs or pictures.

OVER HALF TERM OR BEFORE COULD YOU PLEASE GET YOUR CHILDREN TO DO A SIMPLE DESIGN OR PICTURE OR SELF-PORTRAIT which can be used for the items to be sold. When done get them to Myf  a s a p who will be waiting for them in her office! We can then go into production and start selling straight away as these items would make good Christmas presents.
MAKE SURE ALL DESIGNS/PICTURES ARE NAMED ON THE BACK AND CLASS NUMBER STATED.

Copies of the minutes of the meetings will be posted up on the PSA noticeboard at school for you to read and if you feel you can volunteer some help with any of the activities or events please don’t hesitate to see me at school or leave your contact number at the desk with Lydiah and we will contact you.

Hoping for a successful year of the PSA but really need your support!
