This PSA has had an active and very successful first term of the new school year. We have held 2 successful events; the Car boot Sale and the Childrens’ Christmas party last Sunday (6th Dec).Together they have raised over 2 million shillings. We have spent part of this money on furniture for around the pool and the New Year should see us giving some money for supplementing reference books in the library for both Primary and Secondary schools and for lockers in the Secondary school. Third term we will try and raise money for more musical instruments from around the world for the Primary Music Department.

There has been a tremendous response from parents for our events this past term which is extremely encouraging and we hope to sustain that response from children and parents next term with 2 more fun events. Firstly the Family Fun Biathlon on 30th January where you can run and swim or sponsor someone who is willing to run and swim. This event will be followed by our annual World Cup Fun Day;(WCFD) which is usually the main fund raiser of the year.

What I am really encouraged and so pleased about this term has been the response from our own 6th Formers that have volunteered so readily to help in the events and done such a good job. An example was at the Childrens’ party where a team of them did the face painting and nail painting and did it so well. At the car Boot sale they worked out shifts of car washers to wash cars and created other stalls to raise funds for and increase awareness of local charities and concerns. Such a ‘spirit’ reflects what the school is about and demonstrates why our students are wanted by institutions of higher education when they apply in their final year. I thank them and applaud them.

Finally I thank Mrs Kotecha for her continued support and encouragement as Director of the school. She gave us a 500,000 donation for the Childrens’ party with which we bought the cake and funded supplies. With all this support, how can we fail?

Myf is still selling the great greetings cards and tea towels and ‘magic mugs and will continue to do so all through the year. The cards and tea towels are all the childrens’ Art work and the cards are suitable for any sort of greetings card as they are blank inside so please buy them for any occasion and help us gain a steady income.

With the new furniture for the Club we want everyone to come and enjoy this facility. Parents and pupils have free membership. Just get your membership card from Myf. Visitors are 5,000sh for adults and 3000sh for children. We have a great facility there and the food is freshly cooked and the menu varied. Try it this holiday!

I hope everyone has a really happy Christmas and that 2010 can bring even greater progress and development to the school. We, as a committee will continue to strive for that.
