Letter from PSA - Monday 10th May 2010 PDF Print
We had our first meeting of the term last Tuesday and we have 2 exciting ‘family fun’ events coming up this term which you can all get involved in.
1.    The 2nd CAR BOOT SALE. –Saturday, 29th May.
A good opportunity to sort out what you no longer need or use and a good opportunity for those who are leaving us to sell their stuff. 15,000 per parking space and you should pay Lydiah at Reception.
2.    Our 1st INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR- Saturday, 12th June.
This is a group effort on behalf of countries- a bit like Rainbow Day. You can get together as a national group and create some simple national dishes for people to buy. There is no charge for having a stand but you sell the dishes for the PSA as this is the way we can raise the money from this event. The dishes should be cheap and cheerful so that everyone can come and taste. If you wish to produce plated meals then we are putting a limit of 5000 Ush charge on that plate.
This event is linked with the World Cup which starts the day before. The matches taking place on that Saturday are firstly, Greece v N Korea, then Argentina v Nigeria and finally at night England v USA. (If we can have people to volunteer a stand for dishes from these countries on the day that would be great.) There will be a big screen up at the Club where you can watch all these matches and the Club Bar will be open.
Activities for the children will be down on the Pirate ship field and we hope to have a bouncy castle and face painting and henna for anyone interested,
Emphasis will be on your national colours and you can wear national dress for the occasion.
You can register a stand with Myf Bolingbroke at Reception.
There will be prizes for the best presented stand and for the best presented dish of the day and the most popular food stall.
Prediction competitions and a quiz will be run at the club for the football fans-organised by Mr Green, our quiz expert.
Entrance fee for this event will be only 1,000sh.
So, keep those dates free.
Tell everyone you know about these events and get them to come along. They could have a stand or just come and taste and watch the matches.
Treasurer. Keith Kalyegira has resigned form the post of Treasurer due to changes in his circumstances which make it impossible for him to continue in the post. Myf Bolingbroke has volunteered to take on the post just for the remaining months of this committee’s term of office.
We all sincerely thank Keith for his 2 years service to the school in this capacity and wish him, and his family well for the future. He will continue to support the school in whatever way he can. Thank you Keith.
Thank you also to Sasha in the Primary school who organised the Rome trip and brought back a musical instrument for Primary school free of charge.
WE WILL SHORTLY BE GIVING THE MONEY FOR THE LOCKERS FOR YEAR 9 AND THE PURCHASE OF BOOKS FOR THE LIBRARY IS UNDERWAY. WE ARE INVESTIGATING THE PRICE OF A CLARINET FOR THE PRIMARY MUSIC DEPARTMENT AS THAT IS WHAT MISS KEZIA REQUESTED.
