The 4 strings win the Talent Show

On Saturday 1st May, in possibly the most spectacular evening Rainbow International School has ever witnessed on its own campus, The 4 Strings (Leanne Cullen, Rispa Hatibu, Nicholas Fehling & Angella Kasekende) performed last but came first with their superbly delivered version of ‘Better in time’ in the International Talent Show sponsored by Orange.  There were 640 paying customers as well as several others who found ‘alternative means’ to get in and watch the show.  The organisation and preparation from Ms Imalingat, Mrs. Bisasso and Mr. Howard ensured slick changeovers and polished performances from all the participants.   Indeed it was only the extended intervention of Navio and his ‘crew’ that meant the show finished at 11o’clock p.m. approximately one hour behind schedule.

Rwenzori are Karaoke Champions

We had a great week of lunchtime entertainment last week as the secondary school karaoke competition finally took off.  In the end it was Shamim & Yvonne from Rwenzori who beat Mugabi and his ‘Ssesse girls’ in a sing-off on Thursday.   Mugabi’s voice has been compared to Jay Sean according to Mugabi.  The judges of Mr. Urquhart, Mr. Toscano and Mr. Green decided that Kyoga were third and Impala 4th.  On Wednesday we also had some excellent rapping performances from Jonathan Ssajjabbi, Mudebo Mukweli, Osman Garelnabi, Wasajja Walugembe, Jovin Ssali and Martin Taremwa.  The week’s entertainment provided a perfect build up to the Talent Show on Saturday evening.  A full report on that will be in next week’s Weekly Rainbow.
