Sign language club visited by the deaf

During our club time we had two special visitors from “Deaf Link Uganda.”  Meeting deaf people for the first time was a great and awesome experience.  They taught us many signs of animals, fruits, greetings and words used in our daily lives.  They were very polite, kind and exciting, and used lots of vibrant facial expressions.  They taught us in a very friendly way.  It was absolute silence and amazing to enjoy learning without sound!  It felt like living in a very quiet and peaceful world!

Guest Speakers Revealed!

As many of you probably realised the two guest speakers in the secondary school assemblies last week were actually the two shortlisted candidates for the post of secondary school headteacher to replace Mr. Green when he becomes the Principal in August.  Mr. John Toscano gave us a very interesting and thought provoking assembly on Wednesday on why we should think about serving our community and helping the less fortunate while Mr. Joe Davey, on Friday, presented us with a lively few minutes on why we should all take up some physical activity in our lives.  The two gentlemen each spent a day at Rainbow seeing the school and going through various interviews and now a decision has to be made.  We will inform parents of our decision very soon.
